Getting around Bangkok doesn’t feel complicated.
You don’t need to figure out a system.
You just move.
Grab as the Main Option
Most of the time, I used Grab.
Simple and reliable.
You book, wait a bit, then go.
No need to think about routes or transfers.
It just works.
GrabBike
This is one of the fastest ways to move.
Especially in traffic.
If you’re okay riding a motorbike, this saves time.
Short distances feel even easier.
Walking
A lot of places are walkable.
Especially around areas like Nana.
You can just go out and move from one place to another without needing transport.
BTS (Train)
I rarely used the BTS.
I think I only tried it once before.
For this trip, I didn’t really need it.
Grab and walking were enough.
The Feel
It feels familiar.
Not like a strict system you need to learn.
More like how you naturally move in the Philippines.
Flexible, simple, and easy to adjust.
During Songkran
Movement changes a bit.
Roads get crowded.
Some areas are harder to pass through.
But that’s part of the experience.
You just adjust and keep moving.
What Works Best
Don’t overcomplicate it.
Use:
- Grab for longer trips
- GrabBike for faster movement
- walking for nearby areas
That combination already covers everything.
