Zaanse Schans Windmill Village Guide

Zaanse Schans felt different from the moment I arrived.

Originally, I planned to join a tour.

But like what happened in Volendam, I missed it.

So I just went DIY again — train, then bus.

Honestly, mas okay pa.

Getting There

From Amsterdam Centraal:

Train
Then short bus ride

Travel wasn’t long.

Simple route, easy to follow.

No need to overthink it.

What I Did

I didn’t follow a strict plan.

Just walked and explored.

Windmills first — yun talaga yung main reason.

Seeing them in real life didn’t feel normal.

Parang nasa libro or postcard ka.

I also went inside some areas.

Cheese factory — tried different samples
Wooden clogs demo — simple but interesting

It’s touristy, but not in a bad way.

You still enjoy it.

How It Felt

This place stood out more than Volendam.

Volendam was nice, but mostly boats.

Here, you actually see something unique.

Windmills lined up, moving slowly.

It doesn’t feel real at first.

Time Spent

Half-day is enough.

You walk, explore, take photos, then you’re done.

No need to stay too long.

Why I Preferred This

Zaanse Schans felt more memorable.

Mas may impact.

It’s one of those places na kahit simple lang yung ginagawa mo, you still feel like you’re somewhere special.
