Before going to Paris, I thought I already knew what to expect.
Landmarks, cafés, busy streets.
But once I was there, there were a few things that caught me off guard.
Not big things.
Just small details that stayed with me.
The Transport System
I didn’t expect it to be that smooth.
Using my phone to tap in and out—no card, no app open, even with the screen off—it felt advanced.
After a while, you stop thinking about it.
You just move.
That made everything easier.
The Pace
Paris wasn’t as stressful as I thought.
Yes, it’s busy.
But it didn’t feel overwhelming.
You can walk, stop, sit, and just exist in the city without feeling rushed.
The Balance
You have big landmarks, but they don’t overpower everything.
You can go from something iconic like the Eiffel Tower… to a quiet street in a few minutes.
That balance made the experience feel more complete.
The Details
Things like:
- cafés on every corner
- buildings that already look like postcards
- streets that don’t need filters
You don’t need to look for “nice spots.”
They’re already there.
The Shopping Experience
I didn’t expect outlet shopping to be that good.
La Vallée Village surprised me.
The price difference alone made it worth the trip.
The Feeling
Even after a few days, there were still moments where I’d stop and think—
“Nasa Paris pa rin ako.”
That didn’t go away.
