Watching the Deer in Nara for the First Time

I’ve seen photos of the deer in Nara so many times.

But seeing them in person feels different.

They’re not in one area. They’re everywhere.

Walking around, you’ll just suddenly notice one beside you. Then another. Then more.

At first, it feels calm.

Then you realize—they’re not shy 😅

Once they see food, they’ll come close. Very close.

It’s funny at first, then slightly overwhelming if madami na sila.

But that’s part of the experience.

They’re used to people, so everything feels natural. No barriers, no distance.

Just you, walking around, with deer casually moving around you like it’s normal.

And somehow, it works.
