Moments Between Flights

Not all parts of travel happen in destinations.

Some of them happen in between.

Airports. Waiting areas. Transit time.

Those moments that don’t seem important at first, but end up staying with you.

There’s a certain stillness in between flights.

You’re not fully where you came from anymore.

But you’re not yet where you’re going.

You’re just there.

Waiting.

Sometimes I sit near the gate with a coffee.

Watching people move.

Some rushing. Some relaxed. Some just sitting quietly like me.

Different stories. Same space.

You hear different languages.

See different routines.

Everyone heading somewhere, but for a short moment, everyone shares the same place.

It’s not exciting.

It’s not dramatic.

But it feels real.

There’s also a mental shift that happens here.

Before boarding, you realize you’re about to enter a different environment again.

Different country. Different pace.

That pause before movement matters.

I’ve learned not to rush these moments.

Not to treat them as “just waiting time.”

They’re part of the trip.

And sometimes, they’re the quietest part of it.
