Before this trip, I had to apply for a South Korea tourist visa for the first time—and honestly, medyo intimidating at the start.
Parang ang daming requirements, and you hear different stories online. But once I went through the process myself, I realized it’s actually very straightforward… as long as you’re organized.
This is exactly how mine went 👇
Step 1: Preparing the Requirements
Ito talaga pinaka importante.
I made sure everything was complete before even thinking of submitting. No missing documents, no “to follow,” no shortcuts.
Here are the documents I prepared:
- Visa application form (filled out properly)
- Passport (original + copy, valid for at least 6 months)
- Emirates ID (copy)
- Passport-size photo (white background)
- Certificate of Employment (with salary indicated)
- 3–6 months bank statement (stamped by bank)
- Trade license (if applicable)
- Travel itinerary (DIY lang, no need to be super detailed)
- Hotel bookings (I used Agoda)
- Flight reservation (not fully paid, just reservation)
Tip: Hindi nila gusto yung incomplete. Kahit maliit na detail, make sure meron ka.
Step 2: Booking an Appointment
For South Korea visa applications in Abu Dhabi, you need to secure an appointment first.
You can’t just walk in.
Appointments are usually booked online through the Korean Visa Application Center (KVAC).
Slots can get limited, so I suggest booking early—especially if peak travel season.
Step 3: Submission Day (KVAC Abu Dhabi)
On the day of my appointment, I went to the Korean Visa Application Center in Abu Dhabi.
Typical timings:
- Sunday to Thursday
- Around 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (submission)
I arrived a bit early para safe.
Process was smooth:
- Queue
- Document checking
- Payment of visa fee (free for Filipinos)
The staff were actually helpful and organized, so hindi nakaka-stress.
As long as complete ka, mabilis lang.
Step 4: Waiting Game
After submission, wala ka na gagawin but wait.
This part medyo nakakakaba, not gonna lie 😅
Processing time usually takes around:
- 7 to 14 working days
In my case, it was smooth—no additional documents requested, no delays.
Step 5: Visa Result
I received my visa grant notice on October 31, 2024.
Approved. No issues.
Honestly, sobrang satisfying moment 😄
You can either:
- Check online
- Or wait for notification for passport release
Final Thoughts
If there’s one thing I learned from this whole experience:
It’s not complicated—but you have to take it seriously.
Hindi siya yung pwede “bahala na.”
What really helped me:
- Organized documents
- Complete requirements
- No rushing last minute
Once you do that, the whole process becomes smooth.
If you’re planning your Korea travel soon—kaya mo ‘to. Just prepare properly, and the rest will follow 🇰🇷✨
