Long layovers used to feel like wasted time.
Now, I just treat them as part of the trip.
Most of the time, I stay in the lounge.
That’s where everything becomes easier.
Food, seating, charging — no need to think about where to go next.
Doha is where I’ve spent the longest.
More than 12 hours.
At that point, you don’t rush anything.
You just settle in.
Eat, sit, walk around a bit, then sit again.
Airports like Doha and Singapore make it manageable.
They’re big enough that you don’t feel stuck in one place.
You can move around, explore a little, then go back to the lounge.
I’ve also tried leaving the airport once in Singapore.
Short trip outside, then back in.
It changes the feel of a layover completely.
You don’t feel like you’ve been in transit the whole time.
But most of the time, I keep it simple.
Stay inside.
Rest.
Wait for the next flight.
Long layovers don’t need to feel heavy.
Once you accept the pace, they become easier to handle.
