Packing used to take me a long time.
Overthinking outfits, bringing extra items “just in case,” and ending up with things I didn’t even use.
After a few trips, I simplified everything.
Now I follow a system that works consistently.
I Pack for Days, Not for Options
I don’t pack too many choices.
I pack based on how many days I’ll be traveling.
Example:
5–7 days = fixed number of outfits
Not “extra” outfits
It keeps everything lighter.
I Stick to Basic Pieces
Neutral colors
Easy to match
Simple combinations
This makes it easier to reuse items without overthinking.
Shoes Are Limited
I don’t bring too many.
Usually:
1 main pair
1 extra (if needed)
Shoes take space, so I keep it minimal.
Toiletries Stay Simple
I bring only what I need.
Small sizes
Travel-friendly containers
No unnecessary extras.
Carry-On Matters More
Important items stay in my carry-on:
Documents
Electronics
Basic essentials
Checked luggage is for clothes only.
I Leave Space
I don’t pack my luggage full.
I leave space for:
Pasalubong
Extra items
This avoids problems on the way back.
Final Thought
Packing doesn’t need to be complicated.
Once you find a system that works, you stop thinking about it every time.
You just pack and go.
