Amsterdam and Paris are both popular—but they feel completely different once you’re actually there.
I didn’t notice it at first. But after experiencing both, the contrast became clear.
Pace
Amsterdam feels calm.
Even in busy areas, there’s space. The canals, the bikes, the layout—it naturally slows things down.
Paris feels more active.
More people, more movement. Not chaotic—but you feel the energy right away.
Movement
In Amsterdam, everything feels connected.
You walk beside canals, cross small bridges, and it just flows.
In Paris, you’re more aware of direction.
You take the metro, follow main roads, move from one landmark to another.
Experience
Amsterdam felt easy.
You don’t need a plan. Kahit maglakad ka lang, okay na.
Paris felt iconic.
You recognize everything even on your first visit.
Overall
I enjoyed both—but in different ways.
Amsterdam is where you slow down.
Paris is where you take things in.
