Brussels Travel Guide

Brussels felt different from Amsterdam.

Less aesthetic, more straightforward.

Still worth visiting, but not the same impact.

Getting There

I took the train from Amsterdam to Brussels North.

Easy, direct, no complications.

Europe makes moving between countries feel normal.

Where I Stayed

I stayed at my cousin Camille’s place in Zaventem.

Outside the center, but manageable.

It felt more residential compared to staying in the city.

What I Saw

I visited most of the main attractions:

Grand Place — the highlight
Atomium — unique structure, different from typical landmarks
Manneken Pis — smaller than expected, but still part of the experience

Food

Tried waffles and chocolate.

Both lived up to expectations.

Simple, but good.

I don’t even remember if I tried fries — which says a lot.

How It Felt

I stayed for two nights.

That was enough.

Brussels felt okay.

Not bad, not unforgettable.

Just somewhere in between.

There was even a moment I thought about staying longer in Europe.

Even joked about finding a way to stay.

But reality is different.

Without the right papers, it’s not simple.

Honest Take

Brussels is worth seeing once.

But compared to Amsterdam, it didn’t leave the same mark.

Still part of the journey.

Just not the highlight.
