Amsterdam is easy to move around.
You don’t need to rush it.
Four days is enough to see a lot, but still keep it relaxed.
Day 0 — Arrival Night (Damrak Walk)
I arrived at night and stayed near Amsterdam Centraal.
No plans.
Just walked around Damrak.
Lights, people, movement — good first feel of the city without overthinking anything.
Day 1 — Bike + Walking Tour + Jordaan
Morning started with a bike tour.
Best way to understand Amsterdam.
You see how locals move, not just where tourists go.
Afternoon was a free walking tour.
It added context — history, culture, small details you won’t notice on your own.
Evening, I went to Jordaan.
Dinner there felt slower.
Less crowded, more local.
Day 2 — Zaanse Schans + Volendam + Red Light
Day trip in the morning.
Zaanse Schans first — windmills, cheese tasting, wooden clogs.
Volendam after — short stop, more of a walk than a full experience.
Back in Amsterdam by afternoon.
Red Light District later in the day.
Then ended the night at the hostel bar.
Met new people — Rolando from Argentina and Lucas from France.
Those random conversations become part of the trip.
Day 3 — Museums + Canal Cruise + De Pijp
Museum day.
Rijksmuseum first — The Night Watch and everything around it.
Then Moco Museum.
After that, canal cruise.
Different perspective of the city.
You slow down without walking.
Evening in De Pijp.
Street market vibe, less touristy.
Had coffee at Nosh Café.
Simple, but I remember it.
Day 4 — Departure to Brussels
Packed, then took the train to Brussels North.
Easy transition.
No stress.
How the Trip Felt
Amsterdam doesn’t pressure you.
You don’t feel like you need to maximize every hour.
You just move, explore, and let things happen.
