One of the things I’ve come to appreciate more while traveling is waking up early.
Not because I have to.
But because cities feel different in the morning.
Before everything starts.
Before the crowds.
Before the noise.
I’ve experienced this in different places.
Sitting with coffee while streets slowly fill.
Watching shops open.
Seeing people begin their routines.
There’s a calm in that.
Hindi pa siya busy.
Hindi pa siya overwhelming.
It’s just the city preparing for the day.
Sometimes I don’t even go anywhere specific.
I just walk.
Short routes. Familiar streets. No rush.
You notice details you miss during the day.
The light is softer.
The air feels different.
Everything feels slower.
It’s a small part of travel, but it adds something.
It balances the busy days, the crowded places, the constant movement.
And for me, those quiet mornings often stay longer in memory than the packed itineraries.
