I don’t usually say “best” easily.
Especially when it comes to ramen.
After going to Japan a couple of times, your standards change. The broth has to feel right. The noodles shouldn’t be too soft. The egg has to be that perfect jammy texture.
Hindi pwede basta mainit lang.
Finding Daikan Ramen
I found Daikan Ramen in Yas Bay almost by accident.
Went once.
Then went back a few days later.
That already says something.
The Broth Test
The first thing I noticed was the broth.
Hindi siya overcomplicated. Not overly creamy. Not trying too hard.
Just balanced.
You know that feeling when you take the first spoonful and automatically nod a little?
Ganun.
Noodles That Get It Right
The noodles had the right bite.
Not soggy. Not stiff. Just enough resistance.
I usually go for something close to classic tonkotsu or shoyu style. No crazy toppings. No experiment.
I want the base to speak for itself.
And this one did.
Second Visit Check
Second visit confirmed it.
Sometimes when you go back to a place, the magic fades.
This time, it didn’t.
It reminded me of winter nights in Japan. Sitting at a small counter. Steam rising from the bowl. Quiet slurping around you.
Worth It?
Of course, UAE prices are still UAE prices.
But for what it delivers, it feels worth it.
It’s not about hype.
It’s about that small comfort when you take a sip and think:
Okay.
This is legit.
