Best Cafés in Seoul for Travelers

Most of my coffee moments in Seoul weren’t in “famous aesthetic cafés.”

They were simple, everyday stops.

And honestly, that’s what made it feel more real.

I wasn’t café hopping for photos. I was just getting coffee while moving around the city—with Mark, between places, during breaks, or just to warm up from the cold.

Mega Coffee

This was probably the most consistent one.

You see it everywhere, and it’s very straightforward.

  • affordable
  • quick
  • no pressure

Perfect when you just want coffee without overthinking.

Good for takeaway, especially when you’re moving between stops.

Ediya Coffee

A bit more “sit-down” compared to Mega Coffee.

Still affordable, but you can stay a bit longer if you want.

We ended up here a few times when we needed a proper break from the cold.

Simple, reliable, and everywhere.

CU Convenience Store Coffee

Underrated.

Sometimes, you don’t need a café—you just need something warm.

CU was one of those quick stops:

  • grab coffee
  • stay inside for a bit
  • then go back out

Especially useful during winter.

Small Local Cafés

We also passed by a few smaller cafés along the way.

Not planned. Just random stops when something looked good.

These are the ones that feel more personal.

No expectations, no hype—just part of the day.

What I Realized

Coffee in Seoul doesn’t have to be an “experience.”

Sometimes it’s just:

  • a quick stop
  • a break from walking
  • a way to deal with the cold

And that’s enough.
