4 Days in Bangkok Itinerary (Songkran Edition)

This isn’t a typical Bangkok itinerary.

No temples. No packed tourist checklist.

This trip was built around one thing—Songkran.

So the flow is different. Less structure, more experience.

Day 1 – April 13 (Arrival + Settle In)

Arrive in Bangkok.

From the airport, go straight to brunch at Kay’s.

Good start to the trip:

  • generous American breakfast
  • iced americano

After that, head to your hotel:
Ibis Styles Bangkok Sukhumvit 4.

Check in, settle in.

Walk around the area:

  • Nana
  • nearby streets

Later in the day:

  • foot massage
  • light exploring

No pressure yet. Just getting into the Bangkok pace.

Day 2 – April 14 (Songkran Begins)

This is where everything starts.

Head to Silom for the main Songkran experience.

Expect:

  • huge crowds
  • full-on water fights
  • music everywhere

You don’t observe—you participate.

Bring:

  • water gun
  • waterproof bag

After Silom, you can pass by:

  • Khao San Road (side experience)

At night:

  • back to Nana area
  • bars, music, water still ongoing

Day 3 – April 15 (Songkran + Malls + Friends)

Another Songkran day.

You’ll naturally go back out again—it becomes routine.

In between:

  • Terminal 21
  • EmSphere
  • Emporium

Meet friends:

  • Jodd’s Fair
  • eat Leng Zap

Mix of:

  • chaos (Songkran)
  • chill (mall + food)

Day 4 – April 16 (Slow End + Departure)

Last day is slower.

Before heading to the airport:

  • spa package (scrub + massage)

Proper way to reset after days of water fights.

Then go to the airport.

Stay at:

  • Coral Lounge (BKK)

Food, drinks, rest before flight.

Flight back to Abu Dhabi via Etihad.

Getting Around

Mostly:

  • Grab
  • GrabBike
  • walking

Very easy.

Didn’t rely much on BTS.

Feels closer to how you move in the Philippines—simple and flexible.

Flow of the Trip

Day 1 – ease in
Day 2–3 – full energy
Day 4 – slow down

This isn’t about seeing everything.

It’s about being in the moment.

And during Songkran, that’s more than enough.
