I arrived in Zaanse Schans in the morning.
Not too early, but early enough to feel the difference.
There was already a good number of people.
Tourists walking around, taking photos, moving from one windmill to another.
So yes, it was touristy.
But it still felt peaceful.
The wind was noticeable.
Not strong enough to be uncomfortable.
Just enough to remind you where you are.
You feel it while walking, especially in open areas near the windmills.
It added to the experience.
The sound of the wind, the movement of the blades, the open space around you.
Everything felt connected.
Hindi siya tahimik na tahimik.
But it wasn’t chaotic either.
Somewhere in between.
And that balance made it easy to just walk and enjoy without rushing.
