I try to keep my carry-on simple.
Not empty, but not overloaded either.
Just the things I know I’ll need no matter what happens during the trip.
The Non-Negotiables
Passport is obvious.
That never leaves my carry-on.
Powerbank too.
Long flights, delays, waiting at the airport — you’ll need it at some point.
Toiletries That Matter
I don’t bring everything.
Just the basics:
Toothbrush
Small essentials
Sunblock
Perfume
Enough to feel fresh after a long flight.
Especially if there’s a layover or if I land early and can’t check in yet.
Tech I Always Bring
My laptop is always with me.
Same with my camera gear:
Osmo Pocket 3
Action 5 Pro
These don’t go into checked luggage.
Too important, and I use them throughout the trip.
Why I Keep It Minimal
I don’t like carrying too much.
Airports are easier when your bag isn’t heavy.
Moving between gates, boarding, walking — everything feels smoother.
What I Learned
Anything important should be with you.
Not in checked luggage.
Not somewhere you can’t access easily.
If plans change, or if there’s a delay, your carry-on becomes everything you have.
That’s why I keep it simple.
Just what I need.
Nothing extra.
