I don’t rely on a lot of apps when I’m at the airport.
Most of the time, I just use common sense, signs, and experience.
But there are a few apps I always have open.
Google Maps (Almost Everywhere)
This is still my main app.
Even inside airports, it helps with layout, terminals, and getting a general sense of where things are.
Not perfect for everything, but enough to guide you.
Google Translate
Simple but useful.
Especially when you’re not sure about signs, instructions, or announcements.
You don’t use it all the time, but when you need it, it helps immediately.
Airline App (Etihad)
For me, it’s the Etihad app.
Boarding pass
Gate updates
Flight info
Everything in one place.
No need to keep checking screens constantly.
Skyscanner
I still check Skyscanner even during trips.
Especially for domestic flights or last-minute options.
Sometimes plans change, and it’s easier to compare quickly.
When Apps Don’t Work
Korea is one example.
Google Maps isn’t reliable there.
So I depend more on signs, directions, and just observing how people move.
That’s when experience matters more than apps.
What Actually Works
Apps help, but they’re not everything.
Airports are designed to guide you.
If you pay attention, follow signs, and stay aware, you’ll be fine.
Most of the time, it’s just about not overcomplicating things.
