One thing I was looking forward to in Japan was riding the Shinkansen.
You see it online all the time—but riding it yourself feels different.
First thing I noticed—it’s smooth.
Like, really smooth.
No loud movement, no rough transitions. It just goes.
And it’s fast—but it doesn’t feel stressful.
You’re just sitting there, looking outside, and everything moves quickly without you noticing how fast you’re actually going.
The whole process is also very organized.
From the platform to boarding, everything is clear. No confusion, no chaos.
You just follow the system—and it works.
It’s one of those experiences that’s simple, but you remember it.
Not because it’s dramatic—but because of how easy everything feels.
