Getting a Japan visa once is already a good feeling.
But getting a multiple-entry visa the next time? That hits differently.
After my first trip to Japan in 2017, I already knew I wanted to go back. So a year later, I decided to apply again.
Applying Again Through Friendship Tours
I went back to Friendship Tours inside Dusit Thani Makati.
Same place. Same process.
Submit documents, wait for processing, then return for passport release.
This time, I wasn’t as nervous compared to my first application. I already had a Japan stamp in my passport, and I understood how the process worked.
The requirements were similar.
Nothing complicated.
Just making sure everything was complete again.
That Moment at Passport Release
Picking up your passport never gets old.
You don’t fully relax until you actually see the visa.
When I opened mine, I immediately checked the type and validity.
Then I saw it.
Multiple entry — 5 years.
I paused for a second just to confirm.
From a single-entry visa the year before, it jumped straight to 5 years.
That wasn’t something I expected.
What Changed After That
That visa changed how I planned trips.
Japan stopped feeling like a “one-time destination.” It became something I could return to anytime without going through another application.
It also made spontaneous trips easier.
No need to prepare documents again. No waiting period. Just book and go.
What Helped
Looking at it, a few things probably helped:
• previous Japan travel
• clean travel history
• complete documents
It’s not something you can guarantee, but having that first approved visa definitely matters.
Why It Felt Like a Milestone
It wasn’t just about the validity.
It was the idea that I now had access.
Five years.
That’s a lot of potential trips.
And for a country like Japan, that’s something worth having.
