I didn’t stay in central Paris.
And honestly, I’m glad I didn’t.
I stayed at Aparthotel Adagio Access Paris Quai d’Ivry, and at first, medyo hesitant ako because it’s outside the main tourist areas.
But after the trip, it actually made more sense.
First Impressions
The first thing I noticed—the room was spacious.
Not the usual small hotel setup you expect in big cities like Paris.
It felt more like an apartment than a hotel room.
That alone already made the stay more comfortable.
It’s also under Accor, so there’s a certain standard you can expect. Clean, organized, and no surprises.
Price vs Location
One of the main reasons I chose this place—it was almost half the price compared to smaller hotels in central Paris.
That trade-off?
Distance.
But not in a bad way.
The area is quieter, more local, and less crowded. After a full day in the city, it actually felt good going back somewhere calm.
Commute
Travel time to central Paris was around 30 minutes.
Not instant—but manageable.
What made it easy:
- nearby train station
- bus stop within reach
So even if you’re staying outside, you’re still connected.
And with how efficient their transport system is, it didn’t feel like a hassle.
The Area
This is something I didn’t expect to appreciate as much.
The neighborhood felt:
- safe
- quiet
- local
Not tourist-heavy.
No noise, no chaos. Just a normal residential area.
It gave a different side of Paris—not just landmarks, but everyday life.
Downsides
Of course, the main downside is distance.
If you want to step out and immediately see attractions, this isn’t for you.
You have to plan your day a bit more because of the commute.
But once you accept that, it’s not really an issue.
Overall
If you want:
- more space
- better value
- quieter surroundings
this kind of stay works really well.
It’s not the typical “stay in the center” experience.
But for me, it felt more balanced.
And if I go back to Paris, I’d still consider staying outside the center again.
