Moscow felt different the moment I arrived.
Bigger.
More open.
More like a capital city compared to St. Petersburg.
Everything looked wider.
Buildings, roads, spaces.
It felt more structured, but also more intense.
At the same time, it was still cold.
That same winter feeling carried over.
But instead of quiet, Moscow felt more active.
The city looked polished.
Grand.
Almost intimidating at first, but not in a negative way.
Red Square was one of those places you’ve seen many times in photos.
But standing there, you realize the scale.
It’s bigger than you expect.
More open.
More imposing.
I also used the metro a lot.
Did metro hopping again, just like in St. Petersburg.
Stations alone already feel like part of the experience.
If St. Petersburg felt calm, Moscow felt like movement.
Not chaotic.
Just more alive.
Both cities felt similar in some ways.
But Moscow had more city energy.
More presence.
And for a first impression, that stayed with me.
